Girl Alert with DJ Ritzy debuts in style (See pictures of Schools tour & Concert to celebrate the Girl Child)
All over the world, activities are lined up to observe Breast Cancer month and the International Day of the Girl Child in October, bringing to the front burner issues concerning young women; breast cancer, rape, preventing & responding to gender based violence.
For that sake and much more, super female disc jockey, DJ RITZY (Precious Andrews) partnered with Medical Women Association of Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State to host the GIRL ALERT – ‘Secondary Schools Tour’ followed by an ‘ ALL FEMALE Concert’ on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 which happens to be her birthday.
The schools visited were Ibesikpo Secondary Community School and Cornelia Connelly College, Uyo, at both schools, the convener and celebrator, DJ Ritzy admonished the girls to brace up and face the realities of life, to be alert, to be alive and to live, live their dreams and pursue their aspirations.
The doctors took their turns to educate the thousands of girls on detection and symptoms of breast and cervical cancer, and the issue of rape, all of which could deter them from their goals.
The visit filled the school environment with fresh air, as the students were served with a tangible dose of information to shape their decisons and mould their future, presented in a less formal way outside the classroom.
At CCC, Counselor Mrs Nsikan Edet confessed that she is not surprised that Precious (DJ Ritzy) is doing exploits, having known her since childhood.
The highpoint of the day was the cutting of her birthday cake with the students and the distribution of sanitary pads and writing materials worth thousands of naira.
In the evening, guests were treated to performances by carefully selected female artistes in the first of it’s kind ‘All Female Charity Concert’.
