70 suspects paraded for drugs, petty stealing in Anambra
Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested 70 young people in various locations in Anambra.
The suspects according to the state police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed were arrested for various offences including being in possession of hard drugs and petty stealing.
He said the massive raid was in furtherance to its avowed commitment towards stemming the tide of crime in the state especially during these periods of ember months.
He added that the raid was conducted in collaboration with other sister agencies in the state and that the command will immediately profile them and charge the guiltiest among them to court for prosecution.
Haruna said, “We carried out a series of raids at Criminal hideouts, brothels and other blackspots in Nnewi, Otolo and Okpuno-Uzodike Uruagu Nnewi area and arrested 70 suspects for various offences ranging from alleged stealing and being in possession of weeds suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
“Suspects will be profiled and charged to court if found wanting while those found innocent would be released unconditionally.
‘The command and other law enforcement agencies in the State will continue to pursue the hoodlums before during and after Christmas until all the criminal elements refrain from criminal activities or relocate from the State.
