COVID-19: If you’re not ready to obey guidelines, leave Akwa Ibom – Gov. Udom blast Religious leaders
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel had earlier today engaged in a media chat with the people of the state.
The Governor spoke on a wide range of issues arising from COVID-19 pandemic. From the issue of Burials, wedding, school resumption and many others.

“I don’t want anyone to come and say he is not a member of CAN and therefore cannot adhere to the guidelines. Please if you are not ready to obey our guidelines, then leave Akwa Ibom State and go elsewhere.”
“We are meeting and we are assessing our situation. We are not going to open our schools just because other people have opened theirs.”
“If you must bury your departed loved ones, please follow the guidelines that was given to us by CAN and medical experts. If the burial is holding at an open field, it must not have more than 50 persons.”

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the State health infrastructure has witness a massive face lift as the governor is leaving no stone upturned in combating Coronavirus in Akwa Ibom State.
Currently, the state has a total of 86 confirmed cases, 54 have been discharged, 30 currently active, and unfortunately, the state has recorded 2 dead.
