New CP reads riot act to criminals in Ebonyi, vows to end insecurity
The new Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Police Command, CP, Philip Maku yesterday vowed to partner the thirteen council caretaker chairmen to end the increasing cases of insecurity in Ebonyi borders.
Maku, who embarked on a familiarization tour on area commands in the thirteen council areas of the state, made this known at his visit to Afikpo North LGA, wherein, he vowed to nip in the board all challenging insecurities in the state.
He called on stakeholders to join hands with the Police in the fight against crimes and criminality, no matter whose ox is gored, pointing out that meaningful developments could only thrive in a crime-free society.
He further disclosed that the State Command under his watch will not relent in fighting criminality to a standstill and proceeded to read the riot act to criminal elements, warning that they will be decisively dealt with as there will be no hiding place for them in the State.
The CP equally enjoined the people of Afikpo Area Command to always volunteer useful information to the Police to enable them handle crime in the state effectively.
Earlier in a remark, the Area Commander of the Nigerian Police Force, Afikpo Area Command, ACP Shuaibu Audu, commended the CP for his visit to Afikpo Area Command which comprises two Local Government Areas; Afikpo North and Afikpo South.
He assured the CP of continued support and loyalty of the Area Command, especially in the fight against crime in the state.
Also responding, the Caretaker Chairman of Afikpo North LGA, who, Mrs. Amuche Otunta Godwin, congratulated the CP for visiting the council.
She assured the CP of her commitment to sustain the existing synergy between the Council and the Police, to make Afikpo North Local Government Area, a crime-free council.
