Ondo 2020: SDP accuses its only House of Reps member of anti-party

The member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency at the National Assembly, has been accused by his party, the Social Democratic Party, SDP of anti-party activities.

According to the party in a statement on Thursday, Adefisoye had been meeting with the three leading parties ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

In the statement issued by state secretary of the party, Femi Akinmurele, Adefisoye, who is the only SDP House of Representatives member, was alleged of mobilizing members of the party to vote for either of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP or the Zenith Labour Party.

Akinmurele in the statement said “the National Working Committee (NWC) and the Ondo State Working Committee (SWC) of the SDP have condemned the action credited in some media Mr. Tajudeen Adefisoye who was reported to be moving round the three leading political parties negotiating to deliver SDP votes.

“The leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State has re-emphasised that the Party is not in any alliance or coalition with any political party in the State in respect of the forthcoming governorship election and has not mandated Mr. Tajudeen Adefisoye to discuss or negotiate with PDP, APC or ZLP.”

Similarly, the State Chairman of SDP, Dele Ogunbameru emphasized that no serious party will speak through a non-financial member but through the Exco of the party on the direction or decision of the party on any issue particularly on sensitive political matter like alliance or coalition with another party.
