Edo: Gov Wike speaks on financing Obaseki’s reelection

Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has said that he did not bankroll the reelection of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

Obaseki was re-elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last Saturday after dumping of the All Progressives Congress, APC, prior to the election.

The Rivers State Governor, who spoke on Channel Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, was the chairman of the PDP Campaign Council for the election.

He pointed out that as a sitting Governor, Obsseki had enough funds for his election.

Wike is believed to have supported Obaseki with finances, but he said: “What resources could I have deployed?
