Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, has said that the players are in very high spirits ahead of their international friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia respectively.
Ibitoye also provided the latest update on Belgium-born striker, Cyriel Dessers, who was invited for the games by Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr.
The Super Eagles will tackle the reigning African champions, Algeria on Friday before facing Tunisia three days later in Austria.
“Yesterday’s sessions was the first. We had two sessions Yesterday. It was the first time we are having the squad together, so it was more of loosening up, shaking off fatigue,” Ibitoye told Brila FM on Wednesday.
“For today’s session, and according to the coach, it will be a lot more intensive than Yesterday, so we are hoping for the best.
“The boys are in good spirits, and I’m sure what the coaches did with them in training really encourages them.
“The training session Yesterday was like playing a game. It was intensive, end-to-end. So we are hoping for another intensive session this morning.”
Providing an update on Dessers, Ibitoye added: “Cyriel is doing well. He’s comfortable with the boys. He’s blending well with the other guys in the team. He’s not looking at all like a new player.
“Not just him, all the new boys are also blending. We are happy that he is here, and he is also happy that he is here.”
