Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has called on the Aba Community to come out enmasse to cast their votes for Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike of the PDP during the forthcoming by-election for Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency holding on 27th March, 2021.

Governor Ikpeazu made the call during a mega rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at Etche Road Field Aba.

He said that the PDP-led administration in the State had done much to deserve the vote of Aba people, adding that equity and fairness demand that an Aba indigene is allowed to represent them at the National Assembly for the first time since 1999.

He said his administration had built several roads in Aba and was poised to do more, adding that Aba people should vote based on what political parties have done in the State.

He described the PDP candidate, Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike as a young committed party man capable of representing the people.

Speaking also, the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu said that the candidate will represent the people well at the Green Chambers.

He said a vote for PDP is an affirmation for Governor Ikpeazu, who has done great job for the Aba community.

Also speaking, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, other members of the State House of Assembly, including, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu, Hon. Aaron Uzodike and Hon. Ginger Onwusibe called on the people to support the candidature of Chimaobi Ebisike, saying that need to work closely with the Governor for all that he had done for the Aba people cannot be overemphasized.

They solicited the support of all and sundry to ensure that an indigene of Aba wins in the by-election.

In his speech, the PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere said it was only an Aba indigene, who was born and bred in Aba that can represent Aba well, describing it as an opportunity for an Aba boy coming to complement the works of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in Aba.

He disclosed that the process through which the candidate was selected was the freest and fairest election.

Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, a former Deputy Governor of Abia State and a member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Acho Nwakanma said the Governor had done a lot in Aba and called on the Aba community to pay back Governor Ikpeazu by voting the PDP on the election day.

Speaking, some of the aspirants at the primary election that produced Chimaobi Ebisike, including Dr. NCNC Okoli, Chief Mrs. Uwaoma Olenwengwa and Mr. Alex Ikwechegh, stated that no Aba man had tested the seat
