Akwa United Football Club of Akwa Ibom State was the team to beat yesterday and this morning as the Promise Keepers held Kano Pillars football club of Kano to a goalless draw in Kaduna.
The game which started on a good note, went on very well until towards the end, when the official referee cancelled a Kano Pillars goal for offside, a decision which led to Kano Pillars fans taking laws into theirs hands which left the Referee with no option than to stop the match.
As at this morning, the remaining 3′ to the match was played out and it ended all square in Kaduna.

With this result, Akwa United remains on top of the NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE with 50 points while also setting a new NPFL record of going 17 matches unbeaten in a league season.
