Nigeria to assist DRC in establishing national fire service

The Nigerian Government has concluded plans to assist the Democratic Republic of Congo in establishing its national fir service.

The controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Dr Ibrahim Liman, disclosed this during a courtesy call on the Nigeria Correctional Service, Taraba Command.

Liman said the leadership of the DRC had already requested the assistance which Nigeria was positively disposed to accepting.

He reiterated the organization’s willingness to extend the much-needed hand of friendships to DRC, stressing that Nigeria was qualified to help because of the capacity of its fire fighting equipment and the strength of its personnel.

He said the service had acquired 44 state of the art fire fighting equipment and distributed all to state capitals and other senatorial districts in the country.

He said the FG under the leadership of President Mohammed Buhari also approved another N10. 4 billion for the purchase of another 44 modern fire fighting equipment
