The Arewa Progressives Assembly (APA), has advised the Finance Minister, Hajiya Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed against introducing economic policies that are contrary to the Federal Government’s intended economic stabilization measures for the overall benefit of Nigerians.

A statement issued by Musa Ibrahim Barnawa, the spokesman of the group said there was no justification for the Minister’s “one-step-forward- two-steps-backwards” policies being initiated so far that is contrary to the federal government’s policy for the country.

“We are watching everything that is going on in the Finance Ministry, including all the pretence by Minister and her extended family members working directly under her and we are disappointed because this was not the kind legacy her father left behind for Nigeria.”

The group said it was not persuaded by the appearance of innocence she is giving, alleging that it knows that beneath the facade is a Finance Minister running policies that counter the Federal government’s general economic reform programmes.

The group said it was also aware, from alleged available records, how much the Minister’s husband and children are taking advantage of her position and in some cases serving as fronts.

The statement advised her to stop the sabotage of the Federal Government’s economic stabilization moves, saying that it would not hesitate to petition President Muhammadu Buhari to take stern measures against her conduct, which amounts to backstabbing
