Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has explained why his team was defeated 1-0 against Getafe in Sunday’s LaLiga tie.
Ancelotti said Getafe defeated Real Madrid because the Los Blancos looked like another team, adding that they were less concentrated and less committed during the encounter.
Getafe defeated Real Madrid at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, thanks to Enes Unal’s first-half goal.
The result means Real Madrid are still on top of the LaLiga table with 46 points from 20 games.
“We gave away the first goal, from a player (Militao) who usually stands out in defence,” Ancelotti said during his post-match press conference.
“There isn’t much to say about the game, we just stayed on holiday for one more day. The team didn’t look like the one that played before Christmas.”
“We looked like another team, with less concentration, less commitment,” Ancelotti added.
“We didn’t deserve to lose, of course, a draw would have been fair, but we gave away a goal and you end up with a loss. It could be a wake-up call. Today the team was on holiday.”
