Nigeria vs Korea Republic: Buhari reacts as Super Falcons win at Women’s World Cup

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Super Falcons for defeating Korea Republic 2-0 in a crucial Group A clash in Grenoble.

ND REPORTERS reports that Nigeria, on Tuesday, won their first game at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

The Super Falcons defeated Korea Republic 2-0 in a crucial Group A clash in Grenoble.

Kim Doeyon gave the African champions the lead in the first half, before Asisat Oshoala sealed victory after the break following a counter-attack.

Nigeria now has three points, following their 3-0 loss to Norway in the first game.

Thomas Dennerby’s ladies take on host nation France in their last group match.

Reacting, Buhari on his official verified Twitter page wrote: “I’m pleased I was able to watch the Super Falcons match against South Korea, after the Democracy Day Lunch.

“Congratulations to the Team and Coaching Crew. A well-deserved win on a very special day for Nigeria. We are all proud of your victory.”
